Acercar la ciencia a la etapa de infantil: experiencias educativas en torno a talleres desde el Grado de Maestro en Educación Infantil

workshops by undergraduate students of Degree in Preschool Teacher Training, with the aim of bringing closer and awaken interest in science in children aged 3, 4, and 5 at a school centre. Such workshops are conceived as the final product of a training process directed to future teachers of preschool education, with the main objective of contributing to their scientific and technological literacy, and in the frame of a project for educational innovation which was initiated in the current academic year, 2015-2016. Students designed, developed, and evaluated a total of 10 workshops related to science topics such as living organisms, human body, and water properties. Such workshops resulted to be very attractive for children; a considerable amount of resources and materials constructed by undergraduate students was used; and contents were appropriate for preschool level. Notably, workshops contributed to develop procedural contents of sciences, handling, observation, and establishing simple cause-effect relationships; most importantly, they contributed to promote curiosity and the innate desire for discovering and inquiring of children. Finally, future preschool teachers assess their educational practice in an analytic and reflexive manner
