Advantages and Disadvantages of Multimedia Teaching in the Reform of College English

The reform of CET,one of reforming projects of Ministry of Education in the new century,has entered into implementing process.The instructive document Requirements for CET(Implementation) has been formally published as well.The document put an emphasis on the reform of teaching mode.As the reform develops,contextualized teaching is becoming more important.Therefore,making use of multimedia and computer-aid in teaching can indicate perceptional materials,which makes good situation and outcome.Through the instructive idea of reform in Western countries,the thesis intends to elaborate the advantages and disadvantages of multimedia teaching in the CET.
