ABSTRACT
This study is aimed at accessing the role and distinct important potentials, of the agricultural sector in Nigeria. This study adopted descriptive analysis method to ascertain the major roles played by the agricultural sector in the Nigerian economy.
Result from this research shows that the agricultural sector has not really obtained maximum benefits from available resources. This can be certified as a result of negligence of the Nigeria agricultural sector.
This study recommends that more attention should be paid to the Nigerian agricultural sector, in order to boost the economy and lead to increase standard of living through achieving sustainable agriculture.
