AN ASSESSMENT OF THE EFFECT OF ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS ON CORPORATE PERFORMANCE (A CASE STUDY OF DANGOTE GROUP PLC UYO)

ABSTRACT

This study was aimed at examining the assessment of the effect of environmental factors on corporate performance, using Dangote Group Plc as a case study. In order to accomplish the research objective, the survey research design was adopted for the study, while convenience sampling technique was used to select fifty (50) respondents as the sample size for the study. The instrument used for data collection was a self developed questionnaire and the forms were personally administered by the researcher. Data analysis technique employed was the descriptive statistics which involved the use of frequency tables and percentages. From the findings of the study, it was revealed that the effect of environmental factors on corporate performance could be reduced through environmental scanning, strategic planning formulation and implementation of relevant strategies. The study recommended that management of Dangote Group Plc should make effort geared toward improving the technological standard of its organization as this would make them have a competitive advantage over other companies.
