CHAPTER ONE

1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 History of the Cross River State Waterboard The Cross River State Water Board Limited Limited

 (CRSWBL) was incorporated in August, 1998 in line with the reconstitution of the water Division of the then Ministry of Works and Housing through the severally amended Edict No. 13 of 1975.

            The company has before its corporation, operated to a considerable degree as a Government establishment thus reducing its capacity to deliver appropriately the need of water by the citizens of the state.

            To that effect the company having transited from a parastatal  to a limited liability company developed a new organization structure that has the Board of Directors headed by the Board Chairman at the apex which ensure that the aim and objectives of the organization are stated in the establishing memorandum and articles of association achieved.

            There is also the management team comprising the managing director (Chief Executive Officer) who heads its seven (7) departments which ensures the implementation of board policies and it’s responsible for the day to day operation of the company.

Ownership

    The company (establishment) is solely owned by the state government of Cross River which supervise and oversee its activities through the Commissioner of Water Resources, Ministry of Water Resources.
