CHAPTER ONE
1.0 INTRODUCTION
Very oen in practice a relationship is found to exist between two or more variables. In some research problem, two measurements are taken on each of the unit consideration. We may be interested in finding a relationship between “height of students and their respective Weights” Income and expenditure”, “unemployment and crime arte” and so on. The statistical method used to find out if there exist any relationship between two sets of variables and to establish an equation to represent this relationship which can also be used for prediction is known as “CORRELATION AND REGRESSION”. The measure of the classes or degree of relationship between two or more variables is known as Correlation analysis while the equation of line that represent the relationship between two or more variables which can also be needed for prediction is being referred to a s” Regression Analysis”
