ABSTRACT

With the advance in technology more in particular in the field of computer related organization, a lot of things are now automated. As a matter of fact, Information technology has a vital role in the design and implementation of a computerized multiple choice examination evaluation system.

Almost all our Higher Institution has gone into computerized multiple choice examination evaluation system because of the extraordinary benefit resulting from information technology. Information technology has enabled a computerized multiple choice examination evaluation system to work successfully.

With this computerized multiple choice examination evaluation system, students’ data/information is well collected, processed and stored for the management purpose.

ORGANIZATION OF WORK

This project work is primarily designed to give an insight to Computerized multiple choice examination evaluation system.

Chapter one talks about introduction to Computerized multiple choice examination evaluation system, study of problem and objectives as well as definition of the scope.

Chapter two comprises the literature review. Chapter three gives the detailed information about the existing (old) system, while chapter four and five deals with the design and implantation of new system.

Chapter six documents the project work, while chapter seven summaries, conclusion and suggestions were made.

INTRODUCTION

The student evaluation at the end of a study usually comprises all discussed subjects like English Language, mathematics, Economics, Physics and chemistry etc, a practical idea is to create a multiple choice examination system. The practice is prevalent because multiple-choice examinations provide a relative easy way to test students on a large number of topics. More, for large number of students, a classical evaluation system (written evaluation) consumes a considerable amount of time.

When evaluation does not take place in the same time for all students, the multiple-choice questions tests must be regenerated in order to avoid learning of answers.

The main aspects of generating multiple choice tests, such as classification system, database design and software implementation of a multiple choice examination system for general subjects were discussed in this project work.

Even if the multiple-choice examination is made on paper, it takes a considerable amount of time with evaluation. A better idea is to make an online interface for evaluation.

By using of a database server features, an online testing system that generate tests with 50 multiple choice examination items for general subject.

As most nations of the world are becoming information technology inclined, Nigeria is not left behind. Even as most organizations and companies in the foreign countries have implemented information technology in their films, likewise most of Nigeria’s organizations and companies have also enjoyed the benefits of information technology.

Even as most foreign countries like America, China and India are experiencing information technology boom, Nigeria is yet to come to such level. With the communication satellite launched recently in our country will explore the hidden treasure of information technology.

As I consider the design and implementation of computerized multiple choice examination evaluation system, it is necessary to mention here that information technology have a lot to play in achieving this. Implementing computerized multiple choice examination evaluation system entails having access to computers, having a website and the place of strong and reliable database can not be over emphasized.

All these must be put into consideration and they are well treated in the subsequent section of this project work.
