ABSTRACT
This research will be undertaken primarily to investigate the effect of experiment method On academic performance of student in chemistry in Calabar Municipality Local Government Area of Cross River state. To accomplish these task five secondary schools will be chosen Calabar Municipality Local Government Area for the study. Two researcher designed questionnaire will be used to generate information on experimentation method and student’s academic performances. The questionnaires will be used to deduce how often each school involved their student in chemistry experiments. The questionnaires also included enquire into types of apparatus/equipment available for use in teaching chemistry practical in the laboratories. Student’s first term cumulative score in chemistry. Based on the 0.05 level of significance, the independent t – test for mean difference will be used to test the entire three hypotheses formulated for the study. The result from the hypotheses will show that there is significant difference in performance of students taught with experimental methods schools examination and those thought by the teacher without chemistry laboratory equipment and experiments.
