EFFECT OF MONETARY AND FISCAL POLICY ON ECONOMIC GROWTH IN NIGERIA (A CASE STUDY OF ACCESS BANK PLC IKOT EKPENE)

ABSTRACT

This study seeks to find out how economic stability can be maintained in Nigeria through the adoption of monetary and fiscal policy using Access Bank Plc, Ikot Ekpene as a case study. The study adopted the survey research method, while convenience sampling technique was used to draw a sample size of fifty (50) respondents used in the study. Instrument for the study was a self developed questionnaire and forms were personally administered. The descriptive statistics involving the use of simple percentage and frequency tables was used to analyze data. The findings from the study shows that monetary and fiscal policy has a great impact on the economy by regulating and controlling the availability, volume, cost, quantity and supply of money  and credit to achieve a specified economic objectives and maintain a stable price level. The study recommends that staff should be educated more on the benefits of monetary and fiscal policy and government ministry banks and investors should adopt monetary and fiscal policy in all its operations if they want to maintain an inflation free economy and a stable price level. In conclusion therefore, the study shows that economic growth in Nigeria is through the adoption of monetary and fiscal policy.
