ABSTRACT This research work on effectiveness of Planet Fm Radio programme “community view” in community development, (a survey of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area), has the objectives of finding out how residents in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area listen to the programme “community view” on planet Fm Radio, to what extent do they listen to the programme, and to also know if the programme “community view” promotes community development. A study method was adopted for the study and the population for this work was 320 questionnaire used as the research instrument. The findings among others reveal that poor signal, power fluctuation and high cost of battery are what hinder them from listening to the programme, findings went further to disclose that if government and some media houses should provide power supply, constructions of good roads and lot more, will enable them have effective listening the programme. The work recommended that people in Mkpat Enin should listen to planet Fm radio to keep them updated in all their endeavours, government and some media houses should construct good roads and power supply and also equip the research centers with current textbooks in other to promote efficient research, finally, it is recommended that management of planet Fm radio should work hard to eliminate poor signals problems in their day to day operations so as to enable everyone listen to the educative radio programme “community view”.
