INTRODUCTION

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

The worldwide economic depression of the early 80’s caused a rapid detonation to Nigeria economy. Thus, industrial output shrank to an extent on local and commercial activities were consequently reduced, leading to the loss of employment opportunities in the country. Therefore by the end of 1988, the unemployment situations, and as such most Ebonyi graduates were faced with hardship due to employment in the society and this situation therefore calls for entrepreneurship in the economy which will also lead to the development of entrepreneurial in higher institution.
However, a brief history of entrepreneur development in this state will give more insight on the study. Ebonyi is the poorest and less developed continent in the world. Many states owned enterprises in Nigerian were created when it was believed that the fasted route to development occurred when the state took on the role of entrepreneur. Also, both sate and federal government are now placing much emphasis on the promotion of indigenous small scale enterprise with a view of encouraging entrepreneurship to the end, the government has a policy of providing special support and protection to these enterprise it is anticipated that these new enterprise would grow and produce some of the goods that the state have until the imported, he conserving our dwindling foreign exchange earnings. It is hoed that these new enterprise would help not only to generate employment opportunities for our school livers and university graduates but also export some o their products and earn some foreign exchange the state in general.

Additionally, lower face and increased price ceilings have increased the incentives to entrepreneurs although Ebonyi is still, ploy head by many development problem preliminary evidence suggest a favorable response by the private sector to the new entrepreneurial opportunity. Although there is only limited consensus about he defining characteristics of entrepreneurship, the concept is almost as old as the formal discipline of economics itself. Early 18th century French economist Richard Canadian first introduced the term entrepreneur, in his writings he formally explain the entrepreneur as the agent who busy means of production at certain prices in order to combine them into new product. (schumpeter 1951) shortly therefore, the French economist JB sat added to Castilian definition by including he idea that entrepreneurs has to be leaders, say claims that an entrepreneur is one who buys other people to their in order to build a single product organization (Schumpters 1951).
The necessity of entrepreneurship for productive was first formally recognized by Alfred Marshall in 1980, in his famous practice principle of economic, Marshall ascertain that 1994). This is a typical Nigeria entrepreneur is a self made man who mighty be said to have strong will to succeed.
