ABSTRACT

Examination Hall Allocation for institutions of higher learning is a research work that will help build an effective information management for scheduling of examination in higher institutions. It is aimed at developing a system for tracking the scheduling of examination supervisions assigned to different lecturers in each institution. Due to the problems of the manual system which encompasses the loss of vital information, repeated exams process, errors and confusion among students and lecturers. The new system will serve as a more reliable and effective means of undertaking and managing exams process, remove all forms of delay and stress and enable easy retrieval of examination information in order to checkmate how students take semesters’ exams. The project made use of data collected from the higher institutions, materials and journals from various authors and software was developed to effectively achieve the aim of this project. In this project, the implementation is carried out with Visual Basic.

CHAPTER ONE

INTRODUCTION

This chapter discusses the overview of this research ranging from the introduction to the background of the study, the statement of the problem, aim/objectives of the study where the project’s goal is determined and the significance of the study are also enumerated. This chapter goes further to highlight the scope of the study and lastly the organization of study which briefly describes the structure of this research project.

A computer based examination supervision scheduling is an effective solution for mass educational evaluation. Computer based examination supervision scheduling is designed for universities, polytechnics and colleges for proper management of examination scheduling.

1.1 Background of the Study

A formal examination simply refers to an assessment that is taken by an individual to show his/her knowledge or ability in a particular subject, or to obtain a qualification. An example of a formal examination would be a final examination administered by a teacher in a classroom or an examination administered by a psychologist in a clinic.
