IMPACT OF HUMAN RESOURCE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ON ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE IN NIGERIA: CASE STUDY OF NDDC CALABAR

ABSTRACT

This study examined the impact of human resource planning and development on organizational performance in the Niger Delta development commission, Calabar. To achieve the above stated objectives, a research hypothesis which states that there is no significant relationship between staff training, development and organizational performance was formulated to test the hypothesis. Data was sourced from both direct and indirect sources of data collection especially through the use of the questionnaire as the major research instrument. Data collected was subjected to chi-square statistical analysis, from the data analysed, it was revealed that there is a significant relationship between training, development and organizational performance, put differently, staff planning, development has a positive impact on the organizational performance of staff in the organization. Based on data analysed and research findings, the study has the following recommendations: That manager and administrators or modern organizations should encourage the policy of staff training, development and planning as an uncompromisable and essential component of staff motivation in an organization.
