ABSTRACT
This research project traces the origin of “Information Technology” and checks the challenges posed by this modern invention. The project used Zenith Bank Plc Ikot Ekpene Branch as its case study. Information technology plays a vital role in the survival and growth of any organization in recent time; the challenges posed by information technology in the banking industry have bought serious problems to the operations. Exploring measures to counter these challenges for effective and efficient bank turnover will give a positive effect on the profitability of the bank, taking into consideration customers’ satisfaction. Work of this nature is always not without objectives, research questions are set for further elaboration of instance yet to be understood. This work used survey research method and simple random sampling technique in its design. Collections of data were from primary and secondary sources which were used in the presentation, analysis and interpretations of data. The researcher drew conclusion and recommendations in the area of challenges of information technology in Nigerian Banking Industry.
