DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A COMPUTERIZED INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN SEISEMIC DATA PROCESSING(A CASE STUDY OF MOBIL PLC)

 

ABSTRACT

This work of research loosed into the problems, effects and prospects of Seismic Data Processing.

Applying physical principals will help us to achieved our goals by using a branch of science called GEOPHYSICS.

This work of research is therefore geared towards the study of Seismic Data Processing which happens in physical phenomena and their relationship with in the earth and such phenomena including;

  1. The seismic description
  2. The quake type
  3. The propagation of seismic waves
  4. The forces of gravity/vibration type

In this case, there are some instrument that has been designed to protect these movement through electromagnetic or optical methods.

The main instrument called seisemiographs, scientist called EMIL WIECHERY OF A HORIZONTAL SEISEMOGRAPH about the term of the country. It is policy recommended by the Government to review its policy on the control of earthquakes or (seismic data processing).

ORGANIZATION OF WORK

This project is design and implementation of computerized system in seismic data processing which talk of the collection of people, procedures and equipment designed, built, operated and maintained to correct record, process, store, retrieve seismic data processing. This project comprises of seven chapters which are the following.

Chapter One is the introduction and itg had sub-headings, which are the statement of problem, purpose of the study, aim and objective, scope of the study, limitations, assumptions and definitions of terms.

Chapter Two summarily reviews related literature on method of handling seismic data processing.

Chapter Three is the description and analysis of the existing system, under this we have the fact finding method used. Organization structure of the cased study, objective of the existing system, input, process, output, analysis information diagram, problems of the existing system and the justification of the new system.

Chapter Four deals with the design of the new system. Under this, we have the output specification and design, procedure chart, system flows chart and system requirement.

Chapter Five is the implementation that deals with the program design, source program and test-run. Under the program design, we have program flow chart and pseudo code.

Chapter Six talks about the documentation and Chapter Seven is the conclusion and recommendation.

Finally, the bibliography involved consulted for references.
