  • INTRODUCTION

Music is the art of combining sound in a manner that is agreeable to the ear while education is a longlife process that start from cradle to grave. Music education is the education given to a child in other for him or her to acquire musical knowledge and skills. Music technology is a way of applying practical science in solving music problem such as scoring of music with the help of Sibelius. It is also a way of using sound system in music production. It helps a lot in the sense that in a large population when we want to present music we must make use of sound system for clear and good production.

  • BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Music education is a field of study associated with the teaching and learning of music. It touches all domain of learning including the psychomotor domain (the development of skills) the cognitive domain the acquition of knowledge) and the effective domain including music appreciation and sensitivity. The pre-school to post secondary education is common in most nation because involvement in music is considered a fundamental component of human culture and behaviour.

In elementary schools children often learn to play instrument such as keyboard or recorders sing in small choir and learn about the element of musical sound and history of music. Nursery Primary and Secondary Schools student may often have the opportunity to perform in some type of music ensemble such as a choir orchestra or school band concert band marching band or Jazz band.

In second school additional music classes may also be available. In junior high school music usually continues to be required part of the curriculum. At the university level students in most arts and immunities programme may receive academic credit for talking music courses which typically take the from of an overview courses on the history of music or a music appreciation courses that focuses on listening to music and learning about different musical style. In addition most North American and European Universities have some type of music ensemble in which students from various field of study may participate such as choir concert band, marching band or orchestra.
