Revision of the Code The 7 th edition of the Australian code of practice for the care and use of animals for scientific purposes (the Code) is endorsed by the NHMRC, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australian Research Council (ARC) and the Australian Vice-Chancellor’s Committee (AV-CC). It was revised by representatives of these organisations together with representatives of the State and Territory governments of Australia, animal welfare groups and with input from the public.
