ABSTRACT

The principal aim of this study was to diagnose the students’ performance at graduation relative to their various mode of entry namely; Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and preliminary programme (PRE-ND), at the time of gaining admission into Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua for 2015/2016 Academic Session. The collected data used in the Analysis were data from approved list result from the department. The () test of independence was used for the analysis of the data. It was found out that at 0.05 level of significance, the general performance of first year students in science laboratory technology department, Ikot Osurua is independent on their mode of entry.
