1.0 INTRODUCTION:

In the recent times, Treasure on cooperative organization to achieve their set goals and policies or face the ugly consequences of being liquidated by its owners has become an increasing necessity. Hence they strive to adopt a sound and workable supervisory strategy that will enhance a greater organizational performance.

Today, the corporation is currently witnessing articulated moves form to management to the top floor worker in a bid to translate strategic cooperation objective to specific orientated action that will eventually leads to goal attainment.

Beside, the key to the realization of cooperative strategy has in the ability of management to effectively transform strategic objectives to result oriented goals. Obviously this is where the missing links. Hence, the Primary measure of supervising success is the productivity of the supervisor work unit.

1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Supervisors   who would act as middlemen are responding for transmitting management plans, Programmes, policies and objective which becomes an indispensable tool for bringing the gap between supervision strategy and organizational performance. According to Gormlare (1972), managers cannot markets alone he needs assistance to fully meet the requirements for his current position and even assistance if he is going to rise to senior position within the organization. The importance of supervising leadership on organizational performance cannot be over emphasized.

This is because the character substance and style the supervisory leadership lead to high productivity and defer. It’s part of growth in an organization while inferior supervisory strategy is deterrent to output. Menses (1978:8) Hence is a consensus that regardless of method or system the example of practices of trained supervisors, leaders know how to evoke positive employee’s response to the attainment of their goals who have leaned how to gain and retain employee respect and support, have a worth beyond price to their organization, there are less than numerous agreement that has the boss and subordinate, there are less than numerous agreement that as the boss and subordinate are concerned authority and obedience is on longer than the name of the game. Yet there are still bosses and subordinates inside the organization, customer and citizen on outsides.

However, one thing that seem to emerge from all these debates is that effectiveness of supervision mercies (1978:10) holed that an effective supervisor should be able to do the following:

(i)     Spend his time as a supervisor in scheduling planning and training.

(ii)     Should not try to do the work of his subordinates.

(iii)  Respect them, stand up for them, give subordinates recognition, keep his subordinates informed and should be fair to them. It must therefore bear in mind that set objectives cannot be realized under an atmosphere devoid of competent and effective leadership and supervision.

Summarily, this constitutes the bulk of the entire study as the only effective means of ensuring organizational performance towards goals attainment.

  1. STATEMENT OF TH PROBLEM

In effective supervisory strategy in the practice of the organization, that is by looking at what people do at the functional level. Obviously, most cooperative organizations acknowledge the importance o effective supervision to efficient and effective management of their organization. This is so when viewed from the standard points that factor in determining their group output.

Despite the importance of effective supervisory strategy to the attainment of organizational objective. in some organizations, it is clear manifestation of low task that are assigned to and performed by subordinates. And those tasks so performed cannot be separated from the pattern of supervision strategy, existing in the organization. Therefore, strategy must serve the organization while the organization serve the strategy, i.e.  effective supervisory strategies work, while ineffective supervisory strategies do not. So the nature and extent of directives given the subordinate and their bearing on the organization performance is where the research revolves.
