ABSTRACT
This study,“the Roles of Agrinya Society in Bakor”, investigates the true nature and structure of the society, and clearly stating the activities of this society overtime. It is aimed at arousing interest in the study of traditional societies and culture of Bakor in a bid to promote the cultural image of Africa in the scholarly environment. Using primary sources in form of oral history, secondary sources of both published and unpublished materials, and archival sources in form of intelligence report, we were able to investigate the true nature of the Agrinya society and establish the roles played by this society in the development of Bakor over the years. It recommends, among other things, more attention in the study of cultural institutions in Africa in order to create for Africa a substantial place in the annals of civilization.
