Think-well and Gut Check: The Microbiome Game

ThinkWell citizens want a citizen science project where they can learn about the Microbiome, data mine this topic and do public led clinical trials to learn more. The microbiome is like a galaxy but it is internal and may profoundly impact the way our bodies function. Gut Check is an excellent science based game where you can learn about your microbiome. Dr. Segre and about 200 other scientists published the a survey survey of the human microbiome. Known as the Human Microbiome Project, 242 healthy volunteers were tracked over two years. Researchers sequenced the genetic material of bacteria recovered from multiple sites on the participants’ bodies, involving upwards of five million genes.
