Considering the rapid development of new technologies and their use in teaching/learning foreign languages, Corpus Linguistics provides new tools and materials that can enhance the second language acquisition. This project presents a framework of theoretical principles related to online corpora and proposes the examples of training and discovering corpus-based data-driven exercises that can be an original contribution to English teaching (L2) to native speakers of Portuguese (L1). Data-driven exercises, based on concordances extracted from corpora, provide discovery teaching and involve learners in “discovery learning”. It impacts positively on the personal development of a teacher as well as a learner. The project serves to multiple pedagogical purposes related to the application of data-driven learning (DDL) approach and some ICT-based resources in teaching/learning foreign languages.
