ABSTRACT

This study assesses Christianity in West Africa. Faced with the problem of biblical illiteracy, the study was guided by the following objectives; to examine the impact of Christianity in West Africa, to identify the challenges faced in Christianity in Nigeria, to examine the role Christianity plays in the development of West Africa. tThe study employed descriptive and explanatory design, questionnaires in addition o library research were applied in order to collect data. Primary and secondary data sources were used and data was analyzed using statistical package which was presented in frequency tables and percentage. The respondents under the study were 30 citizens of selected countries of West Africa. The study findings revealed that there is a significant impact [Christianity ] has on [West Africa] . Linear regression significant at 0.05 level (2-tailed), 0.00 indicates the significance of interaction between two variables an indication that the significant is under the range of 0.0 and 0.05.

Using the above findings, it implied that there is a strong relationship between [Christianity ] and [West Africa] . Key recommendations from the study are; Institutions for Biblical education should be raised as many as church planting in West Africa to rule out ignorance, Terrorizing and killing of Christianity should be curbed, Christians in politics should promote moral values by not speaking, but action as well, Biblical Education should also teach self-defense.
