CHAPTER ONE

INTRODUCTION

Pay-per  view [often abbreviated ppv] offers a system by which a television audience can purchase events to view on TV monitors via private telecast of that event to their homes the broadcast shows the event at the same time to everyone ordering it (as opposed to video –on- demand systems.

Which allow viewers to see the event at any time). Events can be purchased using an on screen guide an automated telephone system, or through a live customer services representative events often include feature films, sporting events, pornographic movies and “special” events pay-per- view information system is system that tracks customer usage of services and calculates the impacts on a customers  account, base on the price of the services a computerized pay per view of a cable TV is necessary for handling and preparing of accurate bills for customers. The new system will facilitate the prompt preparation of bills easy retrieval of information, security to vital information and resource sharing among the billing department.

The previous billing system lacked the flexibility to quickly update services and provide customers with an acceptable level of debited information. It is also programmer intensive to maintain in addition to view pay- per view information system, customer bills have been redesigned to better serve customers. The new design is much more user friendly. The pay-per- view information system is presently handling manually by the marketing department. The marketing department took over the function of revenue pay- per- view from the traffic department. Their main function is to raise customer’s bills of all statutory charges against user for the service recordered to them.

The role at which the bills are prepared with the increasing number of customer is insignificant. There are procedural ways in which these bills customers as many bills as the number of the customer increases. Hence, a through investigation and analysis of the manila billing method enables me to gain under standing on the true nature of their problems and design a cable TV that would bring solutions to problem inherent.

BACKGROUD OF STUDY

High television (also known as HITV) is entertainment high ways multi-channel digital satellite TV service in Nigeria launched in 2007. it used hyper cable digital terrestrial technology and laundered direct to home(DTH)

Satellite technology on the August1.2007. HITV broad casts its material now only on satellite at the price of N4, 000($31.73) monthly. It is the first television plat from in African to deploy hyper cable. A terrestrial pay per view TV decoder system.

The sample consists of the procedures enrolled in payment of bills by way of banks. High television, HITV, has made settling customers monthly bills easier, hence the introduction of the bank revenue collect ion system to complement the operations of the cast offices in HITV premises. This program is to facilitate prompt and regular settlement of the HITVS monthly bills, as customers are no longer expected to travel far outside their immediate neighborhoods to settle HITV Bills.
