CHAPTER ONE

 

1.0 INTRODUCTION

Human resources and management as an important tool in the improvement of organizational efficiency, deals with the philosophy of management which includes combining and organizing the other factors of production such as labour, land and capitals in such a way as to obtain maximum production of goods and services at minimum costs.

Human resources are therefore the human ability to organize and control other factors to produce goods and services, introduce innovation and making decisions (source) management textbook.

Human resources are  considered as the achieved roles, it plays because  of the initiating and coordinating it  plays because it is  very important resource, the effective utilization contributed to the contain of progressive and existence of that entity.

The problem of declining productivities in Nigeria today is partly due to inadequate and poorly motivation human resources (the workforce that does not posses the necessary techniques and skills to be effective and efficient in this era of global competition in business). As companies grow higher and professionalism of its employees. Workers must be motivated, coordinated and organized to perform in such a way as to ensure effective operation and maximization of production and profits organization take measure to retain the service of those employee who make positive contributions through operating policies.

 

  • STATEMENT OF PROBLEM

Human resources are important instrument to organizational and national growth development. In our society today, it is divided into urban and rural areas this are centers companies, organization,  firms, industries, corporate bodies employ the services of human resources, man and sophisticated machine in the discharge of duties and production process.

Recently, the acquisition of application of human resources in the management of organization and business has deteriorated drastically the use of machine thus; the growth development and efficiency of human resources have been hampered. Inadequate workforce and incompetence on the port of the few employed human resources, therefore leading to unhealthy competition amongst competing firms and organizations.

Therefore since the use of sophisticated machine cannot be effectively utilize without employing the skill technical knowledge and initiative of human resources, it therefore become imperative that the unique quality and professionalism of human resources in solving the problem against this background of inadequacy of human personnel employed due to lack of  trained and educated personnel investigation.
