Abstract The paper presents an analysis of the relative frequency of attention to `Body of Knowledge’ topics of project management in the papers published in the International Journal of Project Management from 1984 to 1998. The results show that some topics have had little or no attention. The number of papers on some topics has increased, and some decreased. Data is also presented on how attention to the topics differs between the International Journal of Project Management and the U.S. Project Management Institute’s Project Management Journal over recent years. Possible reasons for these results are discussed and some recommendations offered to editors and authors.Â
