ABSTRACT

This research work focused on the development of a data warehouse system for accident case record, using Federal Road Safety Commission in Ikot Ekpene as a case study. The research work was necessary because of the problems of the existing system such as   lack of proper record keeping of accident cases due to manual documentation, inability to easily manage accident case records, absence of a data warehouse application for monitoring trend of accident case for effective decision making. In view of solving these problems, the objectives of the research work are to implement a data warehouse application for registration of accident case record, to create a system that will facilitate easy management of registered accident case records in the data warehouse, to implement a system that can be used to monitor the trend of accident cases for decision making, to implement a system that will aid instant retrieval of reports of accident case records when needed. The significance of the research work are it will facilitate proper record keeping of accident case records and it will enable the management and staff of Federal Road Safety, Ikot Ekpene to operate professionally. Object Oriented Analysis and Design Methodology (OOADM) are used as the design methodology. The programming technologies used is HTML, CSS, PHP and MYSQL.
