ABSTRACT
Learning theories is a panacea to learning and teaching situations as it reveals the secret behind how human being learns at different levels, the methods of teaching and their effectiveness.
This book contains different learning theories and theorists, their brief history content of their theories, application to classroom situations, strengths and weaknesses of each theory, implication of each theory to Nigerian situations. This book will broaden the knowledge of students as regards various learning theories and their usefulness to would be teachers, teachers and society at large. Thus, six chapters are contained in the book, Weiner’s attribution theory of achievement motivation in learning, Self determination theory, Kinesthetic Learning theory, Bruner’s learning theory, discovery learning theory, and cognitive load theory.
