ABSTRACT

The use of audio-visual resources in education has gained significant attention as a powerful tool for enhancing instructional delivery and promoting skills acquisition. This research project aims to investigate the effectiveness and potential benefits of utilizing audio-visual resources for the instructional delivery of business studies in upper basic education, with a particular focus on enhancing students’ skills acquisition.

A mixed-methods research design will be employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. The research objectives include assessing the current utilization of audio-visual resources in teaching business studies, examining the impact of audio-visual resources on students’ skills acquisition, exploring teachers’ perspectives and experiences regarding the use of audio-visual resources, and identifying best practices and recommendations for effective integration of audio-visual resources in business studies instruction.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the effectiveness of audio-visual resources for instructional delivery of business studies in upper basic education. The research will assess the current utilization of audio-visual resources, identify the specific types of resources used, and evaluate their impact on students’ skills acquisition in business studies. It will also explore teachers’ perceptions and experiences regarding the advantages, challenges, and strategies for integrating audio-visual resources effectively.

The implications of this research extend to educators, curriculum developers, policymakers, and students. The findings will inform educators and curriculum developers about the potential benefits of audio-visual resources in teaching business studies, leading to the development of more effective instructional strategies and materials. Policymakers can utilize the research findings to support the provision of necessary resources and training for teachers to incorporate audio-visual resources into their instructional practices.
