ABSTRACT
This research work was on the effectiveness of traditional mode of communication in conflict resolution in Udung Uko Local Government Area. The study had its basic objectives as to ascertain the use of traditional communication in conflict resolution in Udung Uko, examine the role of traditional communication in conflict resolution in Udung Uko and find out how people in Udung Uko respond to the use of traditional communication in conflict resolution. A survey was adopted for the study and a sample size of 200 was selected through the stratified sampling technique. The questionnaire was the instrument for data collection. Also the study revealed that traditional communication fosters development of a community. The study concludes that traditional communication is effective in conflict resolution. Among other recommendations was that traditional rulers must mention traditional customs and values, but refine it to suit modern days society
