This research investigates the influence of social capital on the performance of the hospitality industry in Minna Metropolis, Niger State. Employing a survey research design, data was collected through a structured questionnaire. The study focused on a sample frame comprising thirty-six (36) Two-stars and Three-stars hotels registered with the Niger State Association of Hotels in Minna, Niger State. The selection of 72 respondents was achieved through a multi-stage sampling technique. Both descriptive and inferential statistical methods were employed for data analysis. Hypotheses were formulated and subjected to multiple regression analysis. The findings revealed an R2 of 71.8% with a significance level of 0.0000 for Two-stars hotels, 46.3% with a significance level of 0.0140 for Three-stars hotels, and 57.3% with a significance level of 0.0011 for pooled data. The study indicated that information sharing positively and significantly affects the performance of Two-stars, Three-stars hotels, and the pooled data in the study area. The second hypothesis demonstrated that trust has a positive and significant impact on the performance of Two-stars hotels and pooled data, while it holds a positive but insignificant impact on the performance of Three-stars hotels within the study area. The third hypothesis revealed that shared vision has a negative and insignificant impact on the performance of Two-stars hotels and pooled data, but a positive and significant impact on the performance of Three-stars hotels in the study area. In conclusion, the study emphasized that information sharing has the most substantial impact on hotel performance in the study area, underscoring the importance of exchanging crucial information among network members to enhance effective and efficient service delivery. The study recommends that hotel management should embrace the concept of social capital as a catalyst influencing employee behavior to achieve sustained performance. Furthermore, the government should enforce the integration of social capital dimensions into the formulation of local content policies by institutional bodies, recognizing social capital as a critical tool for achieving business success.
