ABSTRACT

This research project aims to examine the influence of the business education program on skills acquisition among business education students in Colleges of Education in Kogi State, Nigeria. The study investigates the impact of the curriculum, teaching methods, and learning experiences on students’ acquisition of relevant skills required for success in the business field.

The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data collection methods. Qualitative data will be gathered through interviews and focus group discussions with business education students, educators, and industry professionals. Additionally, quantitative data will be collected through surveys administered to a sample of business education students. The research objectives include assessing the influence of the business education program on skills acquisition, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the curriculum, and proposing recommendations for improvement.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the influence of the business education program on skills acquisition among students in Colleges of Education in Kogi State. The research will evaluate the alignment between the curriculum and the skills required in the business field, assess the effectiveness of teaching methods in promoting skill acquisition, and explore the impact of practical experiences, such as internships and industry collaborations.

The implications of this research extend to curriculum developers, educators, policymakers, and business education institutions. The findings will inform curriculum developers and educators about the strengths and weaknesses of the current business education program, allowing for targeted improvements in the curriculum design and teaching methods. Policymakers can utilize the research findings to shape policies that enhance the quality and relevance of business education programs in Colleges of Education. Business education institutions can use the research findings to evaluate and enhance their programs, ensuring that students graduate with the necessary skills and competencies for success in the business field.

In conclusion, this research project aims to investigate the influence of the business education program on skills acquisition among business education students in Colleges of Education in Kogi State, Nigeria. By understanding the impact of the curriculum, teaching methods, and learning experiences, stakeholders can work towards enhancing the business education program to better equip students for the demands of the business field.
