ABSTRACT

The Internet of Things (IoT) has emerged as a transformative technology with the potential to revolutionize various industries, including business operations. This research project aims to investigate the IoT skills required of graduates of Business Education for successful business operations in Ondo State, Nigeria.

A mixed-methods research approach will be employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. The research objectives include identifying the specific IoT skills deemed important for graduates of Business Education, assessing the current level of IoT skills among graduates, exploring the perceived benefits and challenges of IoT integration in business operations, and proposing strategies for enhancing IoT skills among graduates.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the IoT skills required of graduates of Business Education for business operations in Ondo State. The research will identify the specific IoT skills necessary for graduates, such as data analytics, sensor technology, connectivity, cybersecurity, and IoT project management. It will assess the current level of IoT skills among graduates, including their proficiency and readiness to adopt IoT technologies in business settings. Additionally, the research will explore the perceived benefits and challenges associated with IoT integration in business operations, such as improved efficiency, enhanced decision-making, security risks, and data privacy concerns. It will also propose strategies for enhancing IoT skills among graduates, including curriculum development, industry-academic collaborations, and professional development programs.

The implications of this research extend to graduates of Business Education, educators, business owners, policymakers, and industry professionals in Ondo State.
