ABSTRACT

In the current economic landscape, the development of entrepreneurial creative thinking skills is crucial for business education graduates to foster self-reliance and succeed as entrepreneurs. This research project aims to investigate the entrepreneurial creative thinking skills required of business education graduates for self-reliance in Kaduna State, Nigeria.

A mixed-methods research design will be employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. The research objectives include identifying the specific entrepreneurial creative thinking skills deemed important for business education graduates, assessing the current level of these skills among graduates, exploring the perceived benefits and challenges of entrepreneurial creative thinking, and proposing strategies for enhancing these skills among graduates.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the entrepreneurial creative thinking skills required of business education graduates for self-reliance in Kaduna State. The research will identify the specific skills necessary for graduates, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, innovation, adaptability, and risk-taking. It will assess the current level of entrepreneurial creative thinking skills among graduates, including their proficiency in generating innovative business ideas, identifying market opportunities, and overcoming challenges. Additionally, the research will explore the perceived benefits and challenges associated with entrepreneurial creative thinking, such as increased competitiveness, improved business performance, fear of failure, and limited resources. It will propose strategies for enhancing these skills among graduates, including experiential learning opportunities, mentorship programs, and integration of creative thinking training within the business education curriculum.

The implications of this research extend to business education graduates, educators, policymakers, and business support organizations in Kaduna State. The findings will inform graduates about the specific entrepreneurial creative thinking skills required for self-reliance and entrepreneurship success, empowering them to develop and strengthen these skills. Educators can utilize the research findings to design and implement effective pedagogical approaches that foster entrepreneurial creative thinking among students. Policymakers can utilize the research findings to develop policies that promote entrepreneurship education and support mechanisms for graduates to apply their creative thinking skills in establishing and managing their businesses. Business support organizations can benefit from the research findings by tailoring their programs and services to enhance the entrepreneurial creative thinking skills of business education graduates
