ABSTRACT
This research project aims to identify the digital skills needed by business education graduates in the 21st century to effectively reduce unemployment rates. The study seeks to investigate the current digital skills landscape, explore the specific digital skills demanded by employers, evaluate the impact of digital skills on employability, and propose recommendations for enhancing digital skills development in business education programs.
A mixed-methods research design will be employed, combining surveys, interviews, and data analysis of job market trends. The research objectives include examining the current digital skills landscape, identifying the specific digital skills demanded by employers, evaluating the impact of digital skills on employability, and proposing recommendations for enhancing digital skills development.
The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the digital skills needed by business education graduates for unemployment reduction in the 21st century. The research will examine the current digital skills landscape, including emerging technologies, industry trends, and the integration of digital tools in business practices. Additionally, the research will identify the specific digital skills demanded by employers, considering areas such as data analysis, digital marketing, project management software, e-commerce platforms, and collaboration tools. Furthermore, the research will evaluate the impact of digital skills on employability, examining how possessing these skills can enhance graduates’ competitiveness in the job market and increase their chances of securing employment. Based on the findings, recommendations will be proposed for enhancing digital skills development in business education programs, encompassing curriculum revision, faculty development, industry partnerships, and practical hands-on experiences.
