ABSTRACT

This research project aims to investigate the strategies employed by business educators for the acquisition of digital skills among business education graduates, enabling them to be self-reliant in a changing world. The rapid advancement of technology and the digital transformation of industries have necessitated the development of digital skills among graduates to enhance their employability and entrepreneurial prospects. This study seeks to explore the strategies utilized by business educators to facilitate the acquisition of digital skills, examine their effectiveness in preparing graduates for self-reliance, identify challenges faced in implementing these strategies, and propose recommendations for enhancing digital skill acquisition in business education programs.

A mixed-methods research design will be employed, utilizing surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions to collect data from business educators and business education graduates. The research objectives include exploring the strategies employed by business educators for digital skill acquisition, examining the effectiveness of these strategies in fostering self-reliance among graduates, identifying challenges encountered in implementing these strategies, and proposing recommendations for improvement.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the strategies utilized by business educators for the acquisition of digital skills among business education graduates. The research will identify specific strategies employed, such as curriculum integration of digital skills, experiential learning opportunities, industry collaborations, technology-enhanced teaching methods, and entrepreneurship training. Additionally, the study will examine the effectiveness of these strategies in preparing graduates for self-reliance, including their ability to secure employment, start businesses, and adapt to changing industry demands. Furthermore, the research will explore the challenges faced by educators in implementing these strategies, considering factors such as resource constraints, faculty training, curriculum constraints, and student readiness. Based on the findings, recommendations will be proposed for enhancing digital skill acquisition in business education programs, encompassing curriculum design, faculty development, industry partnerships, and supportive infrastructure.

The implications of this research extend to business educators, business education graduates, employers, policymakers, and educational institutions. The findings will provide business educators with insights into effective strategies for facilitating digital skill acquisition, guiding their instructional practices and curriculum development efforts.
