ABSTRACT

This research project aims to examine the funding of business education programs in South-South universities with a focus on promoting skills acquisition among students. The study explores the current state of funding, identifies challenges and opportunities, and proposes strategies to enhance financial support for business education programs to effectively promote skills acquisition.

The research will utilize a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data collection methods. Qualitative data will be obtained through interviews and focus group discussions with university administrators, faculty members, and students. Quantitative data will be collected through surveys administered to a sample of business education students in South-South universities. The research objectives include assessing the current funding mechanisms, exploring the impact of funding on skills acquisition, and identifying potential sources and strategies for enhanced financial support.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing literature by providing insights into the funding landscape of business education programs in South-South universities and its impact on skills acquisition. The research will shed light on the current funding challenges faced by universities, such as inadequate resources, limited access to grants and scholarships, and competing priorities. Additionally, the study will explore the relationship between funding and skills acquisition outcomes, including the availability of practical training opportunities, access to modern technologies, and faculty development programs.

The implications of this research extend to university administrators, policymakers, funding agencies, and business education stakeholders. The findings will inform university administrators and policymakers about the importance of sufficient funding for business education programs to promote skills acquisition. It will provide evidence-based recommendations on strategies to enhance financial support, including exploring public-private partnerships, engaging alumni networks, and advocating for increased government investment. Funding agencies can utilize the research findings to identify areas where targeted funding initiatives can have the most significant impact on skills acquisition. Business education stakeholders can use the research findings to advocate for improved funding and develop collaborative efforts to enhance skills acquisition opportunities.
