ABSTRACT

The digital era has ushered in transformative changes in the business landscape, necessitating the development of effective strategies to prepare business education students for decent work in this rapidly evolving environment. This research project aims to explore and propose strategies for the successful implementation of practicum curriculum to equip business education students with the necessary skills and competencies required for success in the digital era workplace.

A mixed-methods approach will be employed, combining qualitative and quantitative data collection methods. Qualitative data will be gathered through interviews and focus group discussions with business education students, educators, and industry professionals. Additionally, quantitative data will be collected through surveys administered to a sample of business education students. The research objectives include identifying key components of an effective practicum curriculum, examining challenges in implementing practicum experiences, and proposing strategies to optimize their effectiveness.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing valuable insights into strategies for the effective implementation of practicum curriculum for business education students in the digital era. The research will shed light on essential components that should be integrated into practicum experiences, including exposure to emerging digital technologies, real-world problem-solving, industry collaborations, and mentorship opportunities. Furthermore, the study will explore the challenges encountered during the implementation of practicum programs, such as resource constraints, industry engagement, assessment methods, and bridging the gap between academic learning and workplace skills.
