ABSTRACT

Digital technologies have become increasingly prevalent in education, and their influence on self-regulated learning strategies for the acquisition of employability skills among business education students is a topic of interest. This research project aims to investigate the influence of digital technologies in enhancing business education students’ self-regulated learning strategies for the acquisition of employability skills.

A mixed-methods research design will be employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. The research objectives include examining the types of digital technologies used in business education, exploring business education students’ self-regulated learning strategies, investigating the influence of digital technologies on self-regulated learning strategies, identifying the employability skills acquired through the use of digital technologies, and exploring any challenges or limitations associated with the integration of digital technologies.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the influence of digital technologies on self-regulated learning strategies and the acquisition of employability skills. The research will explore the types of digital technologies used in business education, including learning management systems, online resources, educational apps, and virtual collaboration tools. It will investigate business education students’ self-regulated learning strategies, such as goal setting, time management, self-assessment, and reflection. Additionally, the research will examine the influence of digital technologies on self-regulated learning strategies, considering factors such as increased access to information, personalized learning experiences, collaboration opportunities, and feedback mechanisms. It will identify the employability skills acquired through the use of digital technologies, including digital literacy, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and adaptability. Furthermore, the research will explore any challenges or limitations associated with the integration of digital technologies, such as technical issues, lack of digital skills among students, and potential distractions.

The implications of this research extend to business education institutions, educators, curriculum developers, and policymakers. The findings will inform business education institutions about the influence of digital technologies on self-regulated learning strategies and the acquisition of employability skills, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding technology integration and curriculum development. Educators can utilize the research findings to enhance their instructional practices by leveraging digital technologies to support self-regulated learning and employability skill development. Curriculum developers can consider the findings when designing and updating business education curricula to incorporate digital technologies effectively. Policymakers can benefit from the research findings by developing policies that support the integration of digital technologies in business education and promote digital literacy among students.

In conclusion, this research project aims to investigate the influence of digital technologies in enhancing business education students’ self-regulated learning strategies for the acquisition of employability skills. By understanding the impact of digital technologies, stakeholders can leverage these tools to optimize self-regulated learning and better prepare business education students for the demands of the job market
