ABSTRACT
The analysis for the trace metals composition in fig leaves was carried out using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The result of the analysis reveals that the sample accumulated all the analyzed metals. Their concentration were as follows; Iron 2.54±0.0703, Zinc 2.80±0.001, Chromium 1.90±0.006, Nickel 2.102±0.05 and Cobalt 0.991±0.05. comparing the result with the World Health Organization stipulated standard, it reveals that the concentration of metals in the sample were higher than the stipulated standard. Hence, activities leading to the pollution of soil that cause accumulation of metal in plant like fig tree should be limited.
