ABSTRACT

The integration of technology in education has become paramount for effective instructional management and curriculum implementation. This research project aims to investigate the impact of technology-based instructional management skills required by business educators for the effective implementation of the business education curriculum in the South-South region of Nigeria.

A mixed-methods research design will be employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. The research objectives include identifying the specific technology-based instructional management skills deemed important for business educators, assessing the current level of these skills among educators, exploring the perceived benefits and challenges of technology integration in the business education curriculum, and proposing strategies for enhancing these skills among educators.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the impact of technology-based instructional management skills required by business educators for effective curriculum implementation in the South-South region. The research will identify the specific skills necessary for educators, such as proficiency in using educational technology tools, learning management systems, multimedia resources, and online assessment methods. It will assess the current level of technology-based instructional management skills among educators, including their competence and confidence in utilizing technology for instructional purposes. Additionally, the research will explore the perceived benefits and challenges associated with technology integration in the business education curriculum, such as improved student engagement, enhanced learning outcomes, infrastructure limitations, and resistance to change. It will propose strategies for enhancing these skills among educators, including professional development programs, mentorship, and collaborative learning communities.

The implications of this research extend to business educators, curriculum developers, administrators, policymakers, and teacher training institutions in the South-South region. The findings will inform educators about the specific technology-based instructional management skills required for effective curriculum implementation, allowing them to enhance their skill set and instructional practices accordingly. Curriculum developers and administrators can utilize the research findings to incorporate technology integration into the business education curriculum and provide necessary support and resources for educators. Policymakers can utilize the research findings to develop policies that support the integration of technology in education and allocate resources for technology infrastructure and training.
