ABSTRACT

The business education curriculum plays a crucial role in shaping the skills acquisition of NCE (National Certificate in Education) graduates. This research project aims to investigate the influence of the business education curriculum on the skills acquisition of NCE graduates in Adamawa State, Nigeria.

A mixed-methods research design will be employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. The research objectives include assessing the business education curriculum’s alignment with industry demands, examining the perceived relevance and effectiveness of the curriculum in developing skills among NCE graduates, identifying any gaps or limitations in the curriculum, and proposing strategies for enhancing the curriculum’s impact on skills acquisition.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the influence of the business education curriculum on skills acquisition among NCE graduates. The research will assess the alignment of the curriculum with industry demands, considering factors such as the inclusion of practical components, industry-specific knowledge, and emerging trends. It will examine the perceived relevance and effectiveness of the curriculum in developing skills among NCE graduates, including their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings and their readiness for the job market. Additionally, the research will identify any gaps or limitations in the curriculum, such as outdated content, inadequate integration of technology, and insufficient exposure to real-world experiences. It will propose strategies for enhancing the curriculum’s impact on skills acquisition, including curriculum revision, industry collaboration, integration of experiential learning, and professional development for educators.
